Celebrate Science Week with Hands-On STEM Fun!

At our school, Science Week is one of the most exciting times of the year! Because we have a limited budget for STEM activities, we use Science Week to create fun, hands-on experiences that get students excited about science, technology, engineering and maths.

Our Science Week activities are held during recess and lunch breaks, so everyone has a chance to join in. Each day, students can take part in exciting challenges, simple experiments and fun STEM activities that encourage them to explore, create and solve problems. We also make the most of the technology we already have at school. Students love using our robots, coding equipment and other digital tools in fun and creative ways.

This year, we would love to include a SCINEMA film screening as part of our Science Week celebrations. The films would introduce students to exciting science ideas in an engaging way, and we would follow each screening with hands-on STEM activities connected to what they have watched. Students could investigate, design, build, experiment and discuss the science behind the films, making the experience interactive rather than just watching a movie.

Science Week is always a highlight of the year. Students look forward to it every year, and we always have a huge turnout, with children lining up during break times to join in. The activities are open to everyone, so students of all ages and abilities can have a go, learn something new and enjoy STEM in a relaxed and exciting way.

Science Week gives our students opportunities they might not otherwise have. It helps build curiosity, confidence, creativity and teamwork while showing that STEM is fun and for everyone. Even with limited resources, our school community works together to create memorable experiences that inspire students long after Science Week is over.
