Join us on Saturday 22 August 2026 to celebrate National Science Week. 

Students in Years 4–6 will form teams ( Max 4) and compete in a fun engineering challenge to design and build a tower using only straws. On the day of the competition each team will be given a list of instructions to follow and be able to workshop ideas and get feedback from real engineers on their design and building. After they have completed the build, the teams will battle it out to see how much weight their towers can hold. 
There will be activities running alongside the competition for families to participate in that are not registered for the competition. 

Rules: 

• Must submit a registration form to enter the competition
• Provide a team name
• All teams must have at least one guardian present
• Teams can be made of of 4 students ( grade 4 - 6)
• All materials and guidance will be provided on the day ( no prior construction of a tower will be allowed)
