Seeds of Knowledge Science Quiz
This year, our school is excited to host our very first National Science Week Brain Break! We will be celebrating the theme "Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All" with a week full of hands-on science, creativity and discovery.
Teachers across the school will lead Brain Break activities in their classrooms throughout the week, encouraging students to explore science in fun and engaging ways. We will also run a range of whole-school rotational activities, including making seed bread, creating seed art, growing grass heads, launching rockets and investigating simple science experiments such as lava lamps and the famous egg-in-a-bottle challenge.
Students will have the opportunity to take part in a Shoebox Science Challenge, where they will create a shoebox display linked to this year’s theme. Students can choose a science topic that interests them, showcase their ideas creatively and add simple labels or descriptions to explain their learning. Entries will be judged in a friendly competition.
Our younger students can join in with a Science Week colouring competition, while all students will be invited to participate in our popular QR Code Scavenger Hunt. Hidden mystery pictures linked to the theme will be displayed around the school. Students will search for the pictures, scan the QR codes and record their discoveries.
We can't wait to learn, explore and celebrate science together as a whole school community during National Science Week!
