Join us at Victor Harbor Library as we celebrate National Science Week 2026 with a mini science fair featuring Animals Anonymous and Bugs ‘n’ Slugs.
The school theme for National Science Week in 2026 is Seeds of Science: nurturing knowledge for all. We've used this as inspiration to create 2 x 25 minutes presentations over the hour.
Animals Anonymous will deliver an interactive session by wildlife educators; featuring a selection of feathered, furred and scaled native animals. Get up close and personal with our local wildlife and learn how to nurture our native wildlife by maintaining their habitat and food sources.
Bugs ‘n ‘Slugs will introduce you to the world of invertebrate animals, with many live animals from a variety of invertebrate groups.
By joining us at this event, you'll come to appreciate the diversity of invertebrates, learn about the general biology of invertebrates (including identify the distinguishing features of major groups like spiders compared with insects or centipedes compared with millipedes), and you'll learn about the roles of invertebrates in nature.
In both presentations you'll have an opportunity to interact with the animals combining 'hands on Learning’ component for all ages.
This session is for the whole community to enjoy... from 5+ years to adults of all ages!
This event is FREE thanks to the Inspiring SA and their National Science Week Community grant scheme.
