Wildlife Whodunit

  • - (AEST)
  • Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve
Phylis Street Neighborhood Playground, Forde ACT 2914, Australia

Step into the bush and become a wildlife detective!

Join us for Wildlife Whodunit at Mulligans Flat Sanctuary during National Science Week — a hands-on adventure where you’ll learn how to read the secret signs that animals leave behind. Think tracks, poo (we call it “scat” in science!), feathers, fur, nests, and more. Every clue tells a story — can you solve it?

This fun outdoor session will teach you how to spot and identify animal tracks and scats, match clues to real Aussie animals, and understand how scientists figure out who’s been in the area — even if the animal is long gone! You’ll use real tools like a digital microscope to get a closer look, take part in mini wildlife mysteries, and leave with your own track and scat field guide to keep exploring at home.

Mulligans Flat is the perfect place for this adventure — it’s full of wild things and hidden stories just waiting to be found. Bring your curiosity, your bush detective skills, and your sense of adventure!

This event is designed for Aboriginal youth from the Kickstart program, but we’re excited to share the experience through National Science Week and inspire the next generation of nature scientists.
