Welcome to the Upper Mountains Science Hub event, where we're Talking Science @ Scenic World! Join us for an exciting in-person gathering at the stunning location of Scenic World. Dive into fascinating discussions, engage with fellow science enthusiasts, and explore the wonders of the natural world. Hear from passionate researchers and conservationists, learn about their work and get hands-on seeing the technology that is used to monitor wildlife and study it up close.

This event is part of National Science Week 2025, where the Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute has partnered with Scenic World to host an exciting and interactive science communication event on Saturday 9 August 2025. This event is one of four Upper Mountains Science Hub events supported by Inspiring Australia, an Australian Government program.

Speakers include:

  • Joel Dalberger - CEO Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute: Engaging with World Heritage and Conservation
  • Vera Wong - NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service Eco Monitoring Program
  • Melinda Kerr - Wombat ecologist and conservation researcher
  • Michelle Ryan - Aquatic Ecologist and Lecturer in Ecology and Environmental Science

Open to all public.

Registrations are free as part of the Inspiring Australia regional science hub program and National Science Week.
