Get Ready to Decode the Universe! 🔬💫
Have you ever wondered how scientists figure out the secrets of space, nature, and even how roller coasters work? At Sunbury Downs College, we’re about to unlock some BIG mysteries — and you’re invited to join us!
As part of National Science Week 2025, our school is hosting an exciting STEM Science Fair for students in Years 7–10. The theme is “Decoding the Universe – Exploring the unknown with nature’s hidden language.” That means we’ll be investigating the patterns, codes, and systems hidden all around us — in nature, technology, and even in the way things move!
What’s Happening?
Students will show off their own science projects, discovering how Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) can explain the world around us.
You’ll get to see cool experiments, creative models, and smart ideas that uncover how things really work.
There will be four sessions: two for our school community (students, families, teachers) and two for visiting local primary schools — so younger students can get inspired too!
Projects will be judged by teachers, students, and local community helpers.
Bonus Challenge!
Our senior students will take on a wild Engineering Challenge during lunchtimes! They’ll design and build a working roller coaster with a ball bearing — using physics and engineering to show off motion and energy in action. Final judging happens Friday — don’t miss it!
Why Come Along?
This event is all about curiosity, creativity, and cool discoveries. It’s a chance for students to show what they’ve learned and to inspire others to get excited about science. Plus, it’s going to be a lot of fun!
So come along, explore the unknown, and help us decode the universe — one experiment at a time!
