STEM Day in Small Rural Schools will be an exciting full day event where four small schools from The Dorrigo Plateau and nearby areas come together for a fun science adventure! All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 at these schools will take part in different hands-on activities throughout the day.
We’ll use our school’s classrooms and outdoor spaces, along with our teachers and staff, to lead the activities. Some of the coolest things we’ll do include making mini ecosystems that students can take home, figuring out what animal footprints mean, and working together to design models that solve problems using special tools called 3Dux Design and Makedo.
This day is all about helping students discover the joy of science and technology. We want to spark their curiosity and show them that science and STEM can be fun and exciting. We hope that by participating in these activities, students will see science as a great experience and maybe even think about it as a career one day!
