STEM Speed Networking is a free careers event for students in years 10 – 12 who are interested in careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Join us to meet a specially curated group of Women in STEM Mentors who are all passionate about their fields & sharing their career stories. Students will have ~10 minutes with each of our incredible Women in STEM mentors before moving on to the next station.
Stations will also include an activity that links the science you learn at school to real life jobs! This is a great opportunity for students to learn about STEM careers and be mentored by industry professionals.
This term we are changing things up and offering two different themed sessions for students to choose from.
Session #1 – Creative Technology (starting 9am sharp and finishing at 10:30am)
Explore how coding, digital design, robotics, and emerging technologies are redefining what it means to be creative in STEM. This session delves into careers at the intersection of technical innovation and imaginative problem-solving. Designed for students interested in mathematics, computer science, technology or physics, but there will be something for everyone!
Session #2 – Future Life (starting 11am sharp and finishing at 12:30pm)
Dig into the wonders of life on Earth—from ecosystems and wildlife to the science of human health and sustainability. Explore how careers in biology, environmental science, and health sciences are driving discoveries that protect our planet and transform medicine. Perfect for students curious about biology, human biology, chemistry or the social sciences but there will be something for everyone!
This event is free and open to all high school students thanks to the generous support of our sponsors: Curtin University, Strategic Mines, WA Data Science Innovation Hub, Chiesi Australia and ChemCentre.
