  • St Mel's Catholic Primary School
14 Duke St, CAMPSIE NSW 2194, Australia

Join us for Kitchen Koncoctions, where young scientists become culinary chemists and whip up some amazing edible creations! This National Science Week, we're diving spoon-first into the exciting world of food science with two fantastic, hands-on activities.

Get ready to shake, shake, shake your way to a frosty treat. Our youngest scientists will discover how liquids transform into solids as they make their very own ice cream in a bag. It's a chilly, creamy experiment that shows how temperature changes can create something super delicious. You'll mix, you'll shake, and you'll get to eat your cool creation.

For our older scientists, prepare for some Popping Pearls! Get ready to explore the incredible science of spherification as we create tiny, liquid-filled balls that burst with flavour. You'll learn about polymers and chemical reactions as we transform liquids into these exciting edible spheres, just like the ones you might see in fancy restaurants. It's a truly spectacular chemical change right before your eyes!
