At the science fair, you will move through different activity stations where you can try experiments yourself. First, at the Microscope Station, you’ll look at tiny things like plant cells, crystals, or fabric fibers through a microscope to see details you can’t see with your eyes alone. Next, at the Spinning Colour Wheel station, you’ll create a wheel with different colours and spin it to see how colours mix and how your eyes see them.
You’ll also get to make slime by mixing ingredients to see how it changes texture and learn about the science behind it. In the Float or Sink Challenge, you’ll guess which objects will float in water and which will sink, then test your guesses by placing them in a tub of water.
At the Static Electricity Station, you’ll rub balloons on your hair or clothes and use them to make paper butterflies move without touching them, learning about static electricity. In the Classify That Creature station, you’ll look at pictures or models of animals and group them by their features, just like real scientists do.
There are also some physical science games where you’ll learn how your body moves and works by doing simple fitness challenges. Throughout the day, you can take part in competitions related to these activities, testing your knowledge and skills.
Each station has instructions to guide you, and you’ll have chances to ask questions and learn why the experiments work. The fair is all about trying things yourself, observing carefully, and discovering new science facts through fun activities.
