These fun, hands-on activities are designed to help students in Years 1 to 3 (ages 6 to 8) learn important science and STEM ideas in an exciting and active way. In the Water Explorers activity, students test different objects to see if they float or sink, then make foil boats and see how much weight they can carry. This helps them learn about the properties of materials and how water works. In the Button Tower Challenge, students build the tallest tower they can using playdough and counters, then measure and record the height. This teaches them about building, measuring, and collecting data. In the chromatography flowers activity, students use markers and water to separate colours on paper, then turn the dried paper into colourful flower shapes. This introduces them to basic chemistry by showing that some colours are made up of different inks, and it also encourages creativity. With the Airzooka Air Cannon, students use blasts of air to move streamers and rings, showing how air moves and how invisible forces can have an effect. Making fossils gives students a chance to see how impressions are made in clay, just like how fossils form in nature, helping them learn about life from long ago. In the parachute game, students lift and drop a large parachute to see how air slows things down. They also play fun games with balls and soft toys, learning about air resistance and working together as a team. These activities are not only fun and engaging but also help students build important science, maths, and teamwork skills in a way that’s easy to understand and remember.
