Quantum DIY Workshop for August (Science Week) & November (follow up)
The physics regional, rural, remote and out-of-field (PRO) Teacher Support Network would like to invite you to complete a survey stating your interest in a DIY Workshop. We particularly encourage physics teachers from regional, rural, remote and oofting (out-of-field teaching) contexts. Part of this Quantum DIY Workshop will be hosted during National Science Week, with Matt Dodds and some invited guest speakers for Wednesday the 20th of August (evening; times to be finalised).
The invited speakers/demonstrators are (order to be scheduled):
Part A
- Quantum DIY Experiment: Planck Kit - Matt Dodds, SciencewithMat
Part B
- IA3 Hints and Tips - Cathy Clemot, QCAA
Part C
- Particle Physics - Dr Anna Chrysostomou, Postdoctoral Fellow, Laboratory of Theoretical and High Energy Physics (LPTHE), Sorbonne University
- Muons in Education - Dr Shanti Krishnan, Senior Lecturer, Swinburne University of Technology; Co-Founder of mDetect
As this is the year of Quantum, the suggested kit will be the Planck Constant LED kit:

The Quantum DIY kit can be purchased from SciencewithMat:

(we will try and contact you directly but you can also contact Matt with a note stating that you are attending the workshop).
The goal is to make these DIY Workshops a regular event, with follow-up workshops focusing on other topics/units in November and then in 2026.
