This Science Week, join the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Plants for Space and Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria in a unique, future-facing education experience. From Earth's ecosystems to lunar greenhouses, this is a call for the next generation of thinkers, growers, and problem-solvers to reimagine how we live with plants, wherever we go.
This program connects curriculum-aligned science learning with real-world challenges and the exciting future of space exploration.
Students will:
- Discover the challenges of growing plants beyond Earth and how nature's genius offers solutions.
- Investigate plant adaptations that might help them survive in extreme off-Earth environments.
- Explore how plants provide everything humans need including food, medicines, materials and joy.
