To celebrate National Science Week 2025, St. Francis of Assisi Primary School invites the Baranduda community to take part in a unique, interactive experience along the local nature trail.
Titled Nature’s Riddle, Solved a Little, this student-led initiative features hand-held plywood boards which present a series of visual clues and prompts that guide participants to identify ecological features such as native plants, animal signs and natural patterns found along the trail. Together, these clues form an engaging nature scavenger hunt that brings science to life through observation and discovery.
Clue boards will be available for collection from the school’s administration office throughout Science Week. Because the trail is located in a public reserve, the activity is open to all members of the Baranduda community. It has been designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all ages.
This event encourages participants to connect with the local environment and explore scientific thinking in an authentic, hands-on context. It will culminate in a week of nature walks and discoveries under the theme Decoding the Universe – Exploring the unknown through nature’s hidden language.
We welcome everyone to join us in celebrating science, nature and curiosity on our local trail.
