We are celebrating the wonder of magnetics! We are looking at how incredible they are, using them for challenges, races, art work, pendulums and more, all the while learning about the importance of safety. 

We have 15 classes from K-6. We also have 16 tubs of magical magnetic themed activities. Classes will have the option to buddy class, mix up grades, small group work and teams to allow all students across the school to be involved in a 2 hour session embracing the magic of magnets.

Thanks to the grant from the Australian Science Teacher's Association, each activity tub contains all necessary magnets and tools for each activity. Each tub is set for class sizes and across the learning stage.

Kinder tub one for example includes 8 horse shoe magnets for a metal scavenger hunt across the classroom and playground, with students recording their findings through drawing on white boards with markers.

Students in Stage 1 have activities including maze designs on paper plates to use paper clipped bugs and escape from spider webs by using wand magnets underneath the plate.

Students in older stages are involved in a variety of activities including magnetic art, pendulums, wobble magnets and car racing.

At the completion of the events, students will receive a copy of the magnet safety poster to take home.
