Get ready for a sizzling week of Science at Halls Head Primary.
Science Week will include a week-long celebration of all things Science based on the theme Decoding the Universe.
Students will participate in a huge range of activities including observing and painting leaves, using natural resources to make stamps and decoding what was used, investigating and matching animal prints, finding the Fibonacci sequence in flowers and communicating using a student-developed light language.
As well as this, students will be invited to participate in a photography competition. Students can submit a photo of a pattern, example of symmetry or fractals from their environment. Photos will be displayed for all students to view and vote on their favourite.
Students can also enter a competition to participate in the Patterns in Nature Science fair project. Students make a model of a pattern found in nature from any materials they choose. For example, plasticine, dough or a diorama. They then create a display describing information about their chosen natural object and an explanation the purpose of that pattern or how it helps them.
