Science Week at Sunbury Primary School will be an immersive, hands-on celebration of STEM that sparks curiosity, creativity and collaboration. Across five days, each year level will explore exciting experiments and challenges tailored to their age, encouraging scientific thinking through inquiry, observation and innovation. Activities include building spaghetti towers, creating Rube Goldberg machines and experimenting with creating slime. On Monday, families are invited into classrooms to participate in fun, themed experiments such as catapult launchers, bubble science and paper rocket competitions. This week-long program will foster a sense of wonder and curiosity in our students while strengthening home-school connections through shared science discovery.
Science Week is designed to be engaging, inclusive, and sustainable, using low-cost and recycled materials wherever possible. It will highlight the relevance of science in everyday life and provide rich opportunities to develop STEM capabilities in an exciting, real-world context.
