Imagine a city where everything works in harmony with nature – no pollution, no traffic jams, and clean energy powering every home!
That’s the challenge Stage 2 and 3 students are taking on in our exciting project, Future City Builders.
Students will work in teams to dream up, design, and build their own ‘Ideal Sustainable City.’ They’ll explore big questions like: How do we make enough food for everyone? Where does our energy come from? How can we move around without harming the planet?
Using their science, technology, mathematical and design skills, students will create a collaborative model community, complete with houses, transport systems, green spaces, and even renewable energy solutions like solar panels and wind turbines. They’ll measure, plan, and test their designs just like real engineers and city planners.
The project is all about teamwork, problem-solving, and thinking like innovators. As part of the journey, students will present their work to the school community, sharing what they’ve discovered about how we can build a better, fairer, and more sustainable future.
This is more than just building models – it’s about sparking a passion for STEM and showing students they have the power to make a difference. Their ideas might just inspire how cities of the future are designed!
