Join us and other Stargazers Club WA members for a fun, social night out under the dark sky in Lower Chittering.

Non-members and anyone new to telescopes are always welcome to join our activities and meet our friendly community of astronomy and stargazing lovers!

The Stargazers Club team will be there to help new telescope owners get started with stargazing and regulars improve their skills.

With a focus on using your telescope for stargazing, and engaging with other club members, this night won't have a formal presentation, and will begin just before sunset to set up telescopes. 

WHO IS SUITED TO THIS CLASS?

• Telescope owners who want to stargaze under a dark sky and in the company of other like-minded people.
• Experienced backyard astronomers who want to escape light pollution and see faint deep-sky objects like nebulae, globular clusters and galaxies that can't be seen from the city.
• Members who have been using their telescopes for a while and want to enjoy a club night out under the stars. 

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

• We'll all learn some astronomy!
• Beginners or anyone with a new telescope, will receive hands on and practical guidance on setting up and using your new equipment. This will kick-start your learning and you might like to join in a second class to further your knowledge.

• For those more confident with telescopes, our Astronomy Guides will be challenging you to find new objects in a dark sky! As always there will be help at hand just in case you need it.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR LARGER TELESCOPES:

• More complicated telescopes with larger equatorial mounts do require more than one class to get you fully underway. However, this class will certainly get you started on your astronomical journey!
• This event doesn't cover South Celestial Pole Alignment which is an important step in using larger equatorial mounts.
• You might prefer to have a Private Lesson instead where you can receive one-on-one tuition.
