This Science Week, Penrith Lakes is coming to Irfan College to run an exciting incursion called “The Lake Code: Cracking Nature’s Systems.” In this hands-on science experience, students will explore how living things are grouped and named, and test real water samples to investigate environmental health.
There will be two sessions: one for Stage 3 and one for Stage 4, each filled with age-appropriate, collaborative activities designed to get students thinking, sharing, and working like real scientists.
From identifying tiny water creatures to discovering how ecosystems stay in balance, students will take part in a range of interactive, outdoor-style science tasks that explore classification, taxonomy, sustainability, and water testing.
Through teamwork and investigation, students will learn how science helps us understand and protect the world around us—and how even the smallest organisms can give us big clues about the health of our environment.
It’s your turn to collect evidence, make discoveries, and crack the code hidden in nature’s systems—right here at school!
