BIG Science Fair 2025

  • From
  • Burnie Arts Centre
77-79 Wilmot Street, Burnie TAS 7320, Australia

The BIG Science Fair is open to students from years 5 to 12 on the Northwest and West Coasts of Tasmania. Tasmanian students participate in state-wide, national, and even worldwide STEM competitions. There is a new project category where projects have the chance to represent Australia at the International Science and Engineering Fair in America.

This event provides students with the opportunity to apply the skills they are learning in school through hands-on projects, explore intriguing science or engineering topics, and practice their communication abilities. Participants will be recognised for their hard work and curiosity.

The Science Fair offers businesses, industries, and community members an excellent opportunity to support the development of future scientists and engineers while engaging with young people. The community can get involved in various ways, such as sponsoring awards or the event itself, running activities, volunteering, or judging. There is something for everyone!

This event facilitates collaboration among schools, businesses, industries, and the broader community, ensuring that all students get a chance to engage and connect with future employers, career opportunities, and educational pathways while testing their skills.
