Materials Revolution MICROfactorie Tour

  • - (AEST)
  • UNSW Library Exhibition Space
UNSW Library (F21, Library Rd), Kensington NSW 2052, Australia

This Science Week, UNSW Library invites you to get curious about sustainability, innovation, and making a real-world impact. Join us for a guided tour of the library exhibition Materials Revolution, and a behind-the-scenes tour of UNSW Sustainable Materials Research and Technology (SMaRT) Centre’s MICROfactorie Laboratory.

Learn how materials scientists are rethinking waste, and visit the SMaRT Centre’s world-first facility where materials such as plastic and textiles are transformed into new products right here on campus. This is a rare opportunity to see pioneering micro-recycling technology in action and learn how UNSW’s research is driving global change in recycling and manufacturing practices.

This tour is part of the Materials Revolution exhibition, developed by UNSW Library in collaboration with UNSW SMaRT Centre.

Meet at UNSW Library Exhibition Space, Level 5. We will then walk to the School of Materials Science & Engineering (Building E10).

Please note: this event is for ages 18 years and older.

Accessibility: This tour will require walking from Kensington upper campus to mid-campus. If you require any adjustments to participate in this tour, please contact LIB.Exhibitions@unsw.edu.au. For more information about event accessibility at UNSW Library, visit Access to the Library.
