Get ready for RoboQuest: Exploring the Science of Sphero – an exciting day where every student gets to explore the amazing world of robotics! During this fun event, all students from Kindergarten to Year 12 will get hands-on time with a cool robot called the Sphero Bolt. These robots are round, light-up balls that you can control and program using a tablet or computer.

Each classroom will have its own special Sphero activity that matches the interests and abilities of the students in that room. Some classes might be playing Sphero Bowling, where you try to knock over pins by rolling the robot. Others might be doing Sphero Light and Art Painting, where the Sphero glows in different colours as it moves and leaves a glowing trail. You might even see a Sphero Dance Party, where students make the robot move and flash lights in time with music!

With help from teachers and visitors, students will be able to join in the activities or just watch and enjoy what’s happening. You’ll learn how to control the Sphero by using a remote control or by creating simple programs using a visual coding language – no typing needed! Just drag and drop the blocks to tell the robot what to do.

As you play, you’ll also learn how cause and effect works – like how changing one part of the code can change what the robot does. You’ll get to make choices about how the robot moves, where it goes, and what lights or sounds it makes.

RoboQuest is all about exploring, playing, and learning – and most of all, having fun with technology in a way that makes sense for everyone!
