Who is Frosty Leo and what makes them so special? How do you study what stars are made of? What happens when a star dies? Does it go dark?

Join us on Saturday 9 August at the Benalla Library from 10am to 11am as we ask Katherine Rose Gold a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate at the Univeristy of Arizona these questions and more. Katherine’s expertise in astrochemistry will help us explore our big questions as we celebrate the 2025 Science Week Theme of ‘Decoding the Universe - Exploring the unknown with nature’s hidden langauge’. Skype a Scientist gives everyone young and old a chance to ask exciting questions with passionate science communicators. Their mission is make science accessible and fun through personal connections with scientists like Katherine, who generously volunteer their time to answer questions like: why do stars care about sulphur?
