Science Week 2025 — Unlocking the Secrets of Science!

Get ready for a week of mind-blowing experiments, hands-on challenges, and mystery-solving fun! This year, Science Week is all about unlocking the secrets of science through puzzles, codes, and experiments.

For Year 7 & 8

·       Chemical Reactions Password – Can you tell the difference between a physical change and a chemical change? Make colourful Elephant’s Toothpaste, build molecules with modelling kits, and complete experiments to reveal letters of the secret password: REACT.

·       Decode & Create DNA Bracelets – Learn how DNA is built and then make your own beaded “DNA code” to wear.

·       Science Escape Rooms – Use your knowledge, logic, and teamwork to crack puzzles in the Stile and ESH escape rooms.

·       Teacher Dichotomous Key – Can you identify your teachers using science classification skills?

For Year 10 & 11

·       Nature Scavenger Hunt – Explore the school grounds to find hidden examples of patterns in nature, camouflage, and mimicry.

·       Crack the Code Puzzle Hunt – Conduct exciting experiments like flame tests, invisible ink messages, and pH testing. Each result will give you a clue to break the final code.

·       Water Rocket Challenge – Harness the power of air and water to launch your rocket sky-high!
