Patterson River Secondary College proudly presents its Women in STEM event, open to Years 8–12 students during National Science Week 2025 (9–17 August). This year’s theme, “Decoding the Universe – Exploring the unknown with nature’s hidden language”, invites participants to explore how science, maths and technology help us decipher nature’s codes—from DNA to cosmic patterns

Local women professionals in STEM will share their journeys and provide practical advice:

• Dr Laura Moffitt, Postdoctoral Scientist, Metastasis Biology & Therapeutics at Hudson Research
• Tineke Woodroffe, Quality Systems Manager at Ego Pharmaceuticals
• Emily Mann, Data Science Project Manager at Aged Care Australia

They will discuss their career paths, academic training, and everyday work. Attendees can ask questions and explore next steps toward STEM careers. The event also features STEM-themed giveaways like badges and laptop stickers.
