Nature's Hidden Messages

Starke St, Holt ACT 2615, Australia

Students! Become nature detectives and explore the hidden patterns, clues, and messages found in the world around them.

Our event, Nature’s Hidden Messages, is specially designed for students with disability to experience the fun and wonder of science in hands-on, creative ways.

Students will take part in three exciting activities:

  •  Sensory Bottles: Students will create calming bottles filled with natural materials like leaves, seeds, and sticks. They'll shake and turn the bottles to see what floats, sinks, or swirls, helping them learn about movement and materials.

  •  Animal Footprint Detectives: Using sand or dough, students will press animal feet into the surface to make tracks, then try to match each print to the right animal. It’s like solving a mystery using clues from nature!

  •  Leaf Rubbings: By placing leaves under paper and rubbing with crayons, students will reveal amazing patterns in the veins and shapes—like decoding a secret message from a tree!

Every activity is hands-on, sensory, and fun. It helps students build science skills by observing, testing, comparing, and predicting—all while learning through touch, sound, and visuals.
