Have you ever wondered why we eat when we are not even hungry? How our bodies burn energy? Whether those weight-loss ads online are actually true? Or if you should trust what that fitness influencer just posted?

At Let’s Talk Science: Beyond the Scale, we are unpacking the real science behind nutrition, body image, health and well-being, so they all make sense.

Join us for a free community event at Payneham Library – 15 & 16 August 2025.

Address: 2 Turner St, Felixstow SA 5070 (Payneham Library)

Time: 1:30-4:30pm (Friday 15 August); 10:00am-1:00pm (Saturday 16 August)

We are excited to invite you to two days of fun, learning, and connection! This free community event is packed with engaging and educational activities for everyone. Meet our team of experts, including a dietitian, an exercise physiologist, and pharmacists, as they share practical tips at our interactive activity booths, where you can get hands-on, have fun, and learn something new!

  • Build a healthy plate using colourful food models.
  • Move your body in different ways and discover why all movement matters at the Exercise Zone.
  • Get creative with colouring and drawing at our Sci-Drawing station to explore gut health and nutrition (great for kids!).
  • Drop by for a friendly chat with a pharmacist and get answers to your questions about safe medicine and supplement use.

Everything at this event is fun, friendly and designed to help you feel more confident and informed about your body and health. Whether you are curious about nutrition, unsure about the latest health trends, or just love learning something new, this is your chance to explore how science connects with everyday life—through curiosity, compassion and creativity.

Come curious. Leave empowered.
