We are excited to invite students and their families to attend the upcoming Family Science Night, a fun-filled evening of hands-on learning and discovery. This year’s theme is Decoding the Universe, and we have an exciting list of activities planned for everyone to enjoy.
The evening will begin with a short presentation by a local expert, who will explore fascinating patterns in the natural world.
Families will then break into small groups to rotate through three exciting science activities, all linked to the night’s theme and guided by our senior science students:
Planetarium Experience – Enter our classroom planetarium and explore constellations and star patterns in the night sky. Create your own take-home star pattern using glowing materials.
Chemistry of Colour – Put on a lab coat and explore colour changes using a natural pH indicator made from cabbage. Watch how different substances create rainbow-like patterns!
Animal Tracks Puzzle Trail – Follow an animal’s path, answer science clues, and unlock a hidden message.
As you move through the event, enjoy a gallery of student art showcasing nature’s incredible designs, and take a photo with your family at the Science Photo Wall. Everyone will leave with a small science-themed gift to continue exploring at home.
