Want to zoom across the landscape? Then head over to the food bowl of southeast Queensland, lovely Laidley.
Agriculture is the practice of cultivating soil, growing crops and raising livestock. There is so much STEM in agriculture, so whether you love numbers or are passionate about all things tech, you’re bound to find an area that’s the perfect for you.
The science week activities will build upon the inquiry skills the students are learning as part of their learning journey at LSHS, not only in science but in other subjects like digital studies, design and technology, food studies, and agriculture (to name a few). Focusing on problem solving, the students will investigate possible technological solutions that real farmers are using today to help them decrease costs, increase yields and protect the precious soil and landscape of this beautiful part of the country. Agriculture is an excellent vehicle for teaching STEM.
