Battery Hill Mining Centre

Battery Hill is on the eastern edge of the town and had a mine and ore processing plant (a 10 head stamp battery).
There are guided tours of both the underground mine and the stamp battery. Visitors can try their luck panning for gold, and keep any gold that they find!
Other displays include the social history museum "Freedom, Fortitude and Flies" and the McLaughlin Minerals Collection.
The local Tourist Information Centre is also at the site. Battery Hill is open daily from 9.00am to 5.00pm (excluding public holidays from October - April).
