54-58 Durham Road, Kilsyth VIC 3137, Australia

Water Wonders: Water for Life – Helping Plants and People Grow is a FREE hands-on, child-led STEAM program for kids aged 2–5 that celebrates National Science Week by turning water play into a fun science adventure.

Using pipes and special water racing gates, kids will experiment with how water flows, how pressure changes the speed, and how different setups affect movement. This hands-on play helps children explore important science ideas like cause-and-effect, problem-solving, and critical thinking—all through joyful, playful discovery.

Alongside water experiments, children will dig into soil, plant seeds, and learn how water helps plants grow, making real-world connections between science and nature.

In this session, kids will:

  • Explore water flow and pressure by manipulating pipes and gates
  • Learn about the water and plant life cycle through hands-on planting
  • Discover cause-and-effect as they see how water affects plant growth
  • Build problem-solving and critical thinking skills through playful STEAM challenges

This curiosity-driven program encourages little hands to make big discoveries and see how science works in everyday life. Come splash, explore, and experiment—one drop at a time!

Bookings are essential.

Interpretation support is available for families who speak English as an additional language at the 11am session.

This session is generously made possible through Neighbourhood Houses Victoria and the National Science Week 2025 grant!
