Early childhood educators & teachers: Explore colour, mirrors, and shadows through the eyes of a child and learn to co-develop inquiry-based STEM projects with children.
What do shadows, spying devices, and project work have in common? They're all explored in our upcoming "Optics and Inquiry Projects" workshop. In this hands-on workshop, educators will explore:
Different ways of approaching an inquiry-based project.
Your role as the “learning coach” through each stage.
How to maximise children’s decision-making in project work.
How far you can “transport” light through a dark room.
Making your own spying device.
Binocular rivalry and test your own peripheral vision.
Colour, mirrors, and light as a portfolio of inspiration for project work.
Little Scientists recommends that at least two educators from each service book into this workshop. Not only does this foster a more positive workshop experience, it also means educators can support one another to plan and co-develop an inquiry-based STEM project within their setting.
