Our school holds a Science Fair that is open to the wider school community. All of our students are invited to create a project either individually, as a family or with friends. The students bring these to school on Wednesday the 14 August.
The focus of our fair is not to create "the best" project, but instead encourages students to participate and enjoy learning something new with their families. The projects always range from students completing the projects with no assistance, right through to projects that fathers create and involve their children along the way.
All projects are celebrated equally, and students have the opportunity to present their project on a microphone and portable sound system that travels from one project to another.
We also have activities designs to entertain families on the evenings. A few of the activities for the past have been sorting edible plants, guessing contents of mystery containers and building towers.
Overall, it's a fun early evening outing where young scientists are inspired to explore the world around them.
