Can we lure you in for a science and land-based fishing themed intergenerational outing?
In celebration of National Science Week 2024 (and Seniors Month) we are taking both generations offsite.
The library runs a monthly intergenerational program bringing together older members of the rural community and teenage students. The "Students vs Seniors" program is usually held onsite in the Taminmin Community Library (humpty Doo), in conjunction with Taminmin College.
We will be sharing knowledge around fishing techniques and knot tying. Be Crocwise tips, including biology of crocodiles. Sharing knowledge of the barramundi species and sustainable fishing practices. We will all learn more about the iconic barramundi and protected crocodile. Providing opportunities for the generations to share their own skills and knowledge. Lunch will be provided at this event. With lunch being free for Seniors thanks to funding for National Science Week and Inspired NT. Bookings are essential for planning purposes.
You may join by coach or car pool at Taminmin Community Library (inside gates of Taminmin College) Humpty Doo. Activities will be undertaken at Barramundi Adventures Darwin, situated at 1612 William Road, Berry Springs Northern Territory 0838
