This year at Willandra Primary School, we will celebrate Science Week by holding a joint STEM Assembly and STEM exhibition.  The STEM exhibition will feature research projects from students across the school, focusing on this year’s Science theme Species Survival-More Than Just Sustainability. These activities will be taken from the book and supplemented through the children’s own activities supporting the theme.

The exhibition will take place in the Cluster Area allowing all children, staff and community members to come to our Science Week Assembly and view our science projects. This is designed to be a high-impact activity designed to increase the promotion of STEM within the school and broader community. Children and staff will be involved in the hands-on Science Week activities. The promotion of our STEM initiatives will further drive innovative teaching methods while engaging students in a range of meaningful learning experiences.

We are also wanting to celebrate of Indigenous populations of our school through showcasing indigenous sustainability practices. Through showcasing indigenous practices of environmental sustainability and harmony with the environment. These practices are often deeply rooted in cultural traditions, spirituality, and a profound connection to the land.
