To celebrate National Science Week, Alesco Secondary College will be hosting the inaugural STEAM day on August 16th. Students and staff from all Alesco campuses and Atwea staff are invited to participate in a day filled with sciencey fun. Over the course of the day, participants will have the opportunity to be involved in an array of workshops, many of which relate back to the theme of Species Survival: More than just sustainability. Teachers from multiple Alesco campuses will be running these workshops, which will include decorating and planting mini permaculture gardens of native wildflowers and herbs, building some bee drinking stations, making ecoplastics, examining specimen samples taken from our lush head office ecosystem, a biodiversity study, a forensic challenge, and more! We will also be joined by Pretaurus Education who will run workshops looking at water quality.
