At the intersection of art and mathematics sit fractals – intricate, infinitely repeating structures found throughout the universe. From the tiniest snowflake to the lungs in our bodies, fractals can be found everywhere in nature. Inspired by these naturally occurring fractals, as well as modern digitally created fractal art, students will be guided to create their own work of art based on the Sierpinski Triangle.
This syllabus linked workshop supports students’ learning in both visual arts and mathematics, bringing together their understanding of the geometry of triangles with a creative process of self-expression.
