This problem-based learning STEM project involves the construction and racing of solar-powered boats with our STEM Academy students. The project will run over the course of a school day and will engage our Year 7 students.
Students will design and construct solar-powered boats, then use the design thinking process—empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test—to make modifications aimed at improving the speed and agility of their boats. They will also develop collaboration skills and present their findings through infographics or posters at the end of the project.
