Australia’s first nationwide waterway monitoring event will launch in National Science Week on Tuesday 13 August in Launceston Tasmania, hosted by Tamar NRM.

The type and number of waterbugs found in a waterway can tell us a lot about how healthy that waterway is. You will learn how to collect, identify and record waterbugs via the app, it’s free to downlaod – search Waterbug App. Then the data will be uploaded & mapped out to show a snapshot of waterway health in every state.

Your waterbug survey will contribute to building these publicly available maps, and we can gain a better understanding of catchment health. Explore your catchment and find out where looks healthy & where needs help.

Over thirty workshops will be held across the country, find one near you.
