The Science of Sustainability featuring Questacon’s Earth Quest travelling exhibition
A sustainably super hands-on science session is coming to Coal Point’s Progress Hall. The science extravaganza includes hands-on exhibits from Questacon’s travelling Earth Quest exhibition,mini-Scinema short film festival and an observation trail looking at the impacts of fire on the local bushland.

A sustainably super hands-on science session is coming to Coal Point’s Progress Hall. There will be 15 Earth Quest interactive exhibits that will spark an interest from Outer Space to Inner Earth, a community screening of Scinema-short science films, some local exhibits around our feathered and furry friends, as well as an observation trail to look at some field science and the impacts of fire on garden escapes.
To appreciate environmental sustainability there are basic scientific concepts that need to be understood. Questacon’s Earth Quest travelling exhibition allows for this foundational science to be experienced in a hands-on and interactive manner within the framework of National Science Week’s Future Earth theme.
There are seven community sessions available over two weekends 12-13 and 19-20 August, morning and afternoon. Bookings are required.
There are 15 student session available Monday 14 to Friday 18 August. Bookings are essential.
