Shift Work: How to work towards a more efficient, healthier YOU when working around the clock

If you are a shift worker and have difficulty sleeping during the day, chances are you also have difficulty staying awake at work. During this event we will provide you with tips to improve your daytime sleep and provide the information you need to be your most productive during the night shift.

Shift workers are at increased risk for a variety of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart and gastrointestinal diseases. This is likely related to the fact that shift workers are required to work during the night resulting in fewer hours of sleep and the impact of altered shift schedules on dietary patterns. If you are a shift worker and have difficulty sleeping during the day, chances are you also have difficulty staying awake at work.

During this event we will provide you with tips to improve your daytime sleep and provide the information you need to be your most productive during the night shift. The focus will be on:

  • How to improve alertness during your shift
  • Tips for getting a better sleep during the day
  • Food for Health
  • How to maintain a healthy weight
  • Eat well to live well
