Hobart’s youth dance company DRILL presents its next major work with young people, NEON.
Performed by a cast of 18 local young dancers, NEON has been inspired by the chemical elements, examining how our understanding of science and the physical makeup of our reality is reflected in human. Three works have been choreographed by Joshua Lowe, Angela Barnard, and returning DRILL alumna Jaala Jensen, in collaboration with the cast.
CARBON • KRYPTON • LITHIUM
NEON is a free-roaming experience, where you are given the choice of how to watch and listen to each of the three works, which are performed simultaneously on loop. Featuring musical scores created by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and a riotous design of light and colour, NEON is a truly unique experience for audiences.
A part of National Science Week and perfomed during the International Year of the Periodic Table, audiences will also be invited to participate in a range of fun, scientific experiments with artistic outcomes prior to the performance.
Capacity is strictly limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
