Who's your favourite Aussie animal? Join us to discover the wild nightlife of one of the world's wildest cities, Adelaide's marvellous mammals.
We'll wander the beautiful nature trails of Brown Hill Creek by torchlight on this wildlife walk. We'll help you connect with wild animals within 10 km of Adelaide. At the best wildlife spots in Brown Hill Creek we'll share our latest discoveries on endangered bandicoots, adorable but vulnerable antechinus, bats, brushtail possums, and lemur-like ringtail possums.
As passionate wildlife scientists from University of Adelaide, we'll help you connect with wild animals within 10 km of Adelaide's heart. Wildlife Ecology researchers, students, and volunteers will guide you by torchlight on a stunning starlit loop around the best wildlife spots. Along the way we'll share our stories and science on Brown Hill Creek's wonderful wildlife: their biology, important role in the web of life along Brown Hill Creek, behaviour, and conservation needs. We'll show you how to share your bandicoot discoveries though our iBandi citizen science, and how you can help protect them.
Kids are free and adult prices discounted, thanks to National Science Week sponsorship.
***We use Airbnb as our booking partner so you can be confident of a world class wildlife experience with the highest animal welfare standards, including knowing everyone has passed our security check (provided ID) to help keep the bandicoots safe.***
Your ticket supports bandicoots through iBandi citizen science and budding wildlife scientists hosting your tour. To finish, we'd love you to join us back at the Bee Hub for complimentary supper and sharing your wildlife stories around cosy fires.
Brown Hill Creek, or Willawilla in Kaurna, is a beautiful creek that flows from Crafers in the Adelaide Hills, through a deep woodland valley, and down into Mitcham. We'll meet you at The Bee Hub. This special little social enterprise is run by Rossi von der Borch and her happy menagerie of bees, chooks, and friendly dogs. As you're driving up Brown Hill Creek Rd from Mitcham, The Bee Hub will be on your right. Keep driving for 200 m past the Bee Hub and you'll find the parking bay on your left. Listen for the bubbling creek as you stroll back down to The Bee Hub. Heart-warming fire pits, soup and hot drinks will keep you warm (gold coin donation to support The Bee Hub's conservation activities would be greatly appreciated). Please let us know if you require wheelchair access and we'll arrange logistics with you.
