Presented by the ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science, the Solar Cell Challenge gets students involved in hands-on science as they are challenged to convert light into electricity and construct their very own solar cell from their classrooms (that's right- you can't go and buy a solar panel for this challenge!)
Category Level 1- Years 7-9
To construct a dye-sensitised solar cell with the help of a provided method (with variables to modify) and specific materials.
Category Level 2- Years 10-12
To construct any type of solar cell that converts light into electricity (safely!).
Students are to work in teams and present their results in the form of a short, creative video.
