Our National Science Week activities will involve all our children across all year levels (Foundation to Year 6) participating in science experiments. The experiments include:
Lower year levels (F-2)
Upper year levels (3-6)
Classroom teachers will be given instructions, materials and equipment to demonstrate the experiment for their classroom. Students can then conduct and interact with the experiment themselves. Thought-provoking questions will be included in the science kits which will be distributed in the days prior to the Science Week activities.
We are situated next door to a kindergarten and we would invite the kindergarten students to come and witness our children participating in the experiments.
Our school community would be invited to our school assembly where we would have some of our school captains share the experiments with our families. Families will also be invited to see the Science costume parade at the assembly.
Our Science Week activities would be shared with the wider community through our Facebook page and school newsletter.
Our Science Week activities will include excitement and thrill, surprise outcomes, accessible activities for children with additional needs and activities to support the different learning styles of our children. Our children enjoy STEM and our Science Week activities will further drive their passion and love for the subject; which in turn fosters student learning and educational outcomes.
