  • -

Is your Scout or Guide unit planning any Science Week activities in August? Have you heard about the Science of Outdoors activity instructions and videos, that were made by Scouts for Scouts: bit.ly/3iFvGsX?

Activities include:

  • make a simple compass
  • learn some campfire chemistry and
  • build a Da Vinci bridge.

SciScouts and Fizzics Education will also be presenting a Science of Outdoors webinar, an online National Science Week event, 1-2pm Saturday 28 August. This Online Zoom event is targeted at ages 5-14 years for Scouts and Guides across Australia.

In this webinar you will learn the science of:

  • how to create a water filter
  • weather... make a cloud in a jar
  • topography and map reading.
  • and more.

Book online, no later than Friday 20 August.

Note to Scout and Guide groups: Individuals can register, however if Leaders decide to register as a Unit, please let parents know, so they don’t double book.

Science of Outdoors is supported by an Australian Government 2021 National Science Week grant.
