Jingili’s Annual Science Expo, 2 August

Jingili Primary School hosts the annual Science Expo where ‘Real Life Scientist’ come to our school to provoke thinking and connect our students to how science work. The aim of this event is to engage the children, from preschool to year six, with a variety of science concepts and investigations in a fun way. Through the science expo, students will be engaged in a variety of science investigations to create interest, stimulate curiosity about the phenomena occurring every day in the world around them, and to explore the scientific inquiry method. These science learning experiences will involve and develop problem solving and prediction skills.

Science Fair Extravaganza, 17 August

The Science Fair Extravaganza is a day for the students to become ‘Science Experts’. Throughout the Science Fair, students being the experts showcase science investigations with our early childhood students and parent community.  The outdoor learning area is set up to accommodate science stations where students are scientists in action, conducting experiments in the areas of biology, chemistry, Earth and space, and physics.

Jingili Science Expo and Science Fair Extravaganza provide opportunities for students to be involved in learning experiences that promote the science inquiry method and the STEM/STEAM approach. Furthermore, such experiences will increase the students’ awareness and understanding of the central role of science, technology and innovation throughout their learning journey, and the ever so rapidly changing world they live in, and how they can play an active role in this world.
