  • Quorn Silo Light Show
Railway Terrace, Quorn SA 5433, Australia

Experience artistic and visionary alternative futures in a science themed world first. Five iconic Australian landmarks transform each sunset in August as illuminart's vibrant regional projections blaze to life simultaneously in a connected trail of spectacular Stories in Light. Collaborating with talented regional artists and animators, illuminart’s brand new animated stories combine local knowledge, ideas and creativity with epic science-fiction that plays in a different way on each site surrounded by other programmed content. Watch out for the special transmission from the future in the first half hour.

Quorn Silo Light Show brings science and art together by uncovering our region’s focus on bush tucker and revealing a possible future for the region. We will also launch a new story about exploring the region.

Self-drive Self-fly Adventure is a day out with Kev the Kookaburra and Kev Junior, using modern wi-fly technology to explore and discover the Flinders Ranges including the 700 million year old Devil’s Peak.

Quorn Pithi Kawi Bush Tucker Trail focuses on the arid lands, gorges and peaks and the evolution of edible, useful and delicious plants of the dry far north to survive in extreme conditions.

Our future sci-fi story reveals the 3175AD bush-foods cook-off. Talie records a behind the scenes video and interactions with local celebrity chef Razz highlight their different backgrounds.

An exciting street party brings contestants and town residents together to enjoy the great bush food flavours of the Flinders Ranges.

Grab some local tucker, bring a picnic chair or blanket, enjoy the sunset and watch the building light up. Visit all five permanent projection sites and see how they connect to the events trail on a road trip of interesting local activities way outside the city limits.

Proudly brought to you by South Australian projection arts pioneers illuminart and Flinders Ranges Council with the support of Arts SA and National Science Week.
